If you are in Hungary this Mardi Gras (day before Ash Wednesday) then you might like to join the strangely dressed Busos at the Busójárás in Mohács. This 4 day Šokci (Croats) festival fills the streets of Mohacs with the pagan rights that the carnival season springs from. It one of the last truely pagan festivals left in Europe and is still largely unspoilt by tourism.
